Green Cross Ukraine continues to promote cultural development of children

 

September 1, 2011 Green Cross Ukraine  under the auspicies of GCU coordinator in Bila Tserkva Ivanova Elena Heorgivna  organized and realized a meeting with children in Bila Tserkva who participated in the Swiss Youth Camp. The meeting was held in the framework of GCU Mother and Child Club on the base of the Central children library.

Green Cross Ukraine representatives, participants of the Swiss Youth Camp as well as their parents, peers, other schoolchildren, members of GCU Mother and Child Club, coordinator of Bila Tserkva, psychologist and social workers took part in this meeting.

The atmosphere was warm and friendly. GCU Chairman of the Board, Executive Director Sapiga Yuriy Stanislavovych and GCU coordinator Ivanova Elena Heorgivna welcomed the invited people, told about activity of Green Cross in general and Green Cross Ukraine in particular. They told participants about European Union program Youth in Action and in details about International Youth Camp in Switzerland 2011. The participants got direct information about   Meeting the World: Swiss Youth Camp project. The present adults and children learned about the trip of Ukrainian children to the Swiss Camp.

Children who participated in the Camp in Switzerland had the possibility to share their experience and impressions, tell about the trip, camp as well as the knowledge they gained and something new that they had learned. Yuliya Lazdauskayte, one of the camp participants addressed a meeting and sang a song acappella. Then children danced and sang songs. Other participants of the meeting prepared verses and recited them with pleasure. Social workers and psychologist who were present at the meeting observed that children-participants of Swiss Camp were in a good state. Notably, they were rather lively, cheerful and smiling.

At the end of the meeting participants were asked to fill in questionnaires in order to collect children’s opinions and realize additional examination. Organizers of the meeting left their contacts and brought to notice that if participants have any questions they can address to GCU Mother and Child Club in Bila Tserkva where they will get necessary psychosocial assistance. Moreover, participants were presented with CGU booklets and pens.

We will continue to help these children and they always can rely on our support in case of need.
