Necessary Help from Green Cross to the Family of Oksana Zhurba
June 7, 2013 Oksana Zhurba and happy to receive a new washing machine from Green Cross, the mother was dreaming of it for the past 5 years. This was possible thanks to our partners - Green Cross Switzerland (GCCH). Oksana was very glad and grateful for such a generous gift, because the family could not afford to purchase a washing machine before. "I am very happy. Many thanks to Maria Vitagliano and Green Cross for helping us "- says Oksana Zhurba with tears in her eyes and happy smile on her face. Now she will be able to spend more time with her children and cope with her home duties faster.
Green Cross Ukraine got acquainted with the family in 2012, thanks to Anatoliy Demydchuk, Head of the village council and Nelia Palamarchuk, GCU Coordinator in Zhytomyr region. The parents raise four children Alexander (20), Dmitriy (17), Artem (3) and Anastasia (2). Family members are the beneficiaries of GCU Mother and Child Club in Zhytomyr region.
Due to the Social Cooperatives GCU project family received for free rabbits for breeding and farming. Maria Vitagliano gladly talked with the family and shared her thoughts and ideas with them. Oksana thanked for the assistance they have received and keep receiving from Green Cross. During the field trip to Ukraine, Maria Vitagliano, International Program Director Social and Medical Care (SOCMED) visited a school in the village of Nevgody as well as other families.
